Leon Haslam has topped the time🗹s in the second free practice session for JG Speedfit Kawasaki at a chilly Donington Park ahead of the opening round of the 2018 Bennetts Briti𝄹sh Superbike championship season.

After the confirmed s🅺chedule reshuffle for thღe 2018 season opener due to poor weather forecasts, the majority of BSB riders used the 45-minute session to notch up laps in conditions predicted to be similar to race one which has been 🍷moved to Sunday.

As the pace sharpene🔜d with the late flying laps, Haslam shot to the top with a 1m 39.690s as conditions slowly dried out with a number of riders switching to the intermediate Pirelli tyres at the end of the session.

Tyco BMW’s Christian Iddon produced a final lap to move within two-tenths of Haslam’s timesheet top🍸per and take second place from Anvil Hire Yamaha’s James Ellison while RAF Reserves Kawasaki’s Jake Dixon kept in touching dist𒁏ance of the top three.

Despite being one-second off of Haslam’s best effort Bradley Ray placed his Buildbase Suzuki into fifth on the timesheet ahead of Honda Racing’s Jason O’Halloran and Lloyd♍ & Jones PR Racing BMW’s Jakub Smrz.

Richard Cooper endured a late fall 🍌꧅at the Old Hairpin for Buildbase Suzuki but kept hold of ninth place on the times with the Halsall Racing-run Suzuki squad led by Tommy Bridewell rounding out the top ten.

After opting to sit out the majority of FP2 due to the conditions, FP1 timesheet-topper Shane Byrne claimed 12^th for Be Wiser Ducati, just behind Smiths BMW’s Peter Hickman, while McAMS Yamaha’s Josh Brookes suffered an early fall at Coppice which saw the unfortunate Danny Buchan (FS-3 Racing Kawasaki) collected by the 𝔍Australian’s stricken Yamaha.
