DTM Hockenheimring: Glock takes hard fought race two victory

BMW's Timo Glock has opened his 2018 DTM victory account after beating Mike Roꦬckenfeller and Gary Paffett to the race two win at the Hockenheimring.

Glock's first win since Zandvoort 2017 has propelled the BMW Team RMR driver to the top of the drivers' standings following the first w♎eekend of action in the series, one point ahead of Paffett second.

The former F1-star started the second race from pole position and held off a stern three-car challenge from Rocken🍌feller, Paffett and DTM rookie Joel Eriksson to hand BMW their first win of the season.

Glock's first win since Zandvoort 2017 has propelled the BMW Team RMR driver to the top of the drivers' standings following the first weekend of action in the series, one pꦜoint ahead of Paffett second.

The former F1-star started the second race from pole position and held off a stern three-car c🐎hallenge from Rockenfeller, Paffett and DTM rookie Joel Eriksson to hand BMW their first win of the seas🗹on.

Audi's Rockenfeller followed ♐the leading BMW M4 home in second, while Pa🐬ffett backed up his race one victory with another podium result in third.

BMW Team RBM's Eriksson took fourth in only his second ꦡrace in the series, ahead the Audi of Loic Duval and Mercedes' Pascal Wehrlein iꦚn sixth.

Despite starting the race from the front row, Audi's Rene Rast had to settle for seventh. The reignin🌄g champion emerges from the opening weekend sitting 10th in the drivers' standings, 34 points off the pace.

A further four-seconds back from Rast, Bruno Spengler added ꦚto his points tally with an eighth place finish as Paul di Resta and Augusto Farfus roun💛ded out the top-ten order in ninth and tenth.

Audi's Mattias Ekstrom marked his final DTM race with a 16th place finish♒. 🧜;
