The exit of Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes has created a covetꦉ𝓀ed vacancy for the 2025 F1 season.
Schumacher will be Merce🔴des’ ⛄F1 reserve driver this year, and Alpine’s World Endurance Championship driver.
"I'm of course aware that Lewis' Mercedes seat will then be free,” he told 🦂.
“I'm still keeping an eye on Formula 1 and hopefully the dream will ♏come true again.
“But in the end it's important that I also do my things and see my role as a reserve driver - and especially my ro𓄧le as a WEC driver in the foreground.
“If I perform well, let's see where it takes me.
"I'm sure that Mercedes know what I can do.
“You've🐼 also seen it in the simulation ses𒀰sions, in the junior categories and at Haas.
“Hopefully it'll be enough to have mor🌳e p🎀eople in the WEC and Formula 1 to impress."
Schumacher spent two years as a full-time F1 driverဣ with Haas before losing his seat.
His career was revived by Merc𒁏edes last year in a 𒀰reserve driver role with simulation duties.
Racing agai𒉰n this year, eight times in the WEC series, could put Schumacher back in the shop window for F1 teams.
He describ💛ed his new WEC opportunity: "Having a roof over your head and not being able to see the tyres from the cockpit is something I'm not familiar with.
“There are a few things that are new to me.
“There will also be GT3 and LMP3 cars on the track at the s🔯ame time.
"It will be unusual and a challenge. But I'm really l🌳ooking forward to it.
"What wil🐎l be a big factor in pa꧒rticular is tyre management.
“We start off wꦰith cold tyres and have to keep them alive for two꧃ stints.
“That requires a lot o🦩f control and self-control not to si🦄mply burn the tyre. That can also be helpful when we hopefully go back to Formula 1 at some point.”
