F1 Belgian GP: 'Sore' Magnussen targets Monza return after huge crash

Kevin Magnussen says he is aiming to be back in his car for this week's Italian Grand Pr🅘ix after escaping serious injury in a high-speed accident at Eau Rouge during the Belgian Grand Prix.
The Dane was runn꧅ing ninth in the early stages of the Spa-Francorchamps race when he lost control of his Renault RS16 at the top o♎f Eau Rouge before impacting the barrier heavily.

Despi𒐪te the severity of the shunt, Magnussen was able to extricate himself from the car, though would be taken to hospital for a precautionary check. Diagnosed with an ankle injury, Magnussen was discharged before tweeting💮 that he expects to be in the car for Monza practice on Friday.

Magnussen will need to undergo a medical check🌃 before being given the all clear to compete at Monza. If Magnussen is unable to race Renault faces a headache in terms of replacing him having lost its reserve driver to Manor Racing.
