Red Bull Form𝓀ula 1 team principal Christian Horner has described Pierre Gasly’s crash at the end of German Grand Prix Friday practice is an “annoying incident”.

In the closing 𓆏stages of second practice, Gasly lost control of his RB15 coming out of the fina𓃲l corner before running through the gravel and slamming into the barriers.

𒁃The 10G impact caused heavy damage toꦗ left-hand side of Gasy’s car, destroying the suspension and left wheels.

Speaking to Sky Sports F1 following the session, Horner said the team needs to ful༒ly a💃ssess the damage.

“It’s early days,” he added. “We need to get the chassis back a🐼nd get a proper look at it first but it was about a 10G impact.

“You can see some of the damage but thankfully it wasn’t his race gearbox or race engine, so just frustrating 🦋really to lose the car at that point of the session.”

Gasly headed to Ho๊ckenheim off the back of his strongest weekend of the 2019 season so far, having finished fourth at the British Grand Prix.

But in Germany, Gasly struggled to match tea🌃mmate Max Verstappen throughout practice and was down in 15th place in the timesheets at the time of his off.

“Off the back of a good result at Silverstone it’s no𒊎t the 𝓡weekend he wanted here,” Horner said.

“But it’s only free practice, we’ll get the car r🃏ebuilt tonight and build on that for tomorrow.

“It’s an an๊noying accident but it is what it is and we can’t change it now, just got to get on with it."

Speaking about the incident, Gasl𒆙y added: "Unfortunately, towards the end of the session I lost the car exiting the final corner during a long run and hit the ba🅠rrier.

"Fortunately I wasn’t using my race engine🌼 or gearbox, but more importantly I’m really sorry for the boys in the garage and I want to apologise to them as the repairs will make for a loওng night.

"Looking ahead to t𒈔omorrow, the conditions are going to be completely different so we need to learn from today and analyse all the tests we have done.”
