F1 champion Lewis Hamilton blasts “unacceptable” racist abuse of England stars

England’s hopes♐ of ending a 55-year wait for a major trophy were dashed in an agonising penalty shootout defeat to Italy in the Euro 2020 final at Wembley on Sunday n🐼ight.
Even before kick-off, the match was overshadowed by the behaviour of🐲 ticketless England fans who broke into Wembley, as well as unsavoury scenes witnessed across the capital in the build-up to the game.
Rashford, Sancho and Saka each missed penalties in the 3-2 shootout loss and all three players were subjected to a barrage 💖of racist abuse on social media.
“The racial abuse on social media towards our player🍸s after yesterday’s game is unacceptable,” Hamilton said on Instagram.
“This sort of ignorance has to be stopped. Tolerance and respect for players of colour should not be condit🐻ional. Our humanity should not be conditional.
“Pleܫase call out those you see posting hatred online. Challenge them to see the humanity in everyone regardless of༒ their colour.
“Super proud of how far the England team were able to go.💃 Super proud of Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and the entire team.”
England manager Gareth Southgate described the abuse - which is being investigated by The Metropolitan Police - as “unforgivable”, wh🌜ile Prime Minister Boris Johnson condemned it as “appalling”.
The Duke of Cambridge, who watched the match at Wembley with Prince George and the Duchess of Cambridge, tweet⭕ed: “I am sickened by thꦕe racist abuse aimed at England players after last night’s match.
"It is totally unacceptable that players have to endu🥃re this abhorrent behaviour. It must stop now and all those involved should 🐟be held accountable."
