An F1🔯 stewards’ document stated Hamilton had been summoned over an “alleged breach of Appendix H, Art. 2.5.5.b) of the FIA International Sporting Code, not respecting d🌳ouble waved yellow flags/lights at 17:22.”
Hamilton could face a possible grid drop if he is found to have ignored double waved yellows, with title rival Max Verstappen picking up a five-place penalty at the last race in Qa𝔉tar for the same infringement during qualifying.
Any punishment would deal Hamilton a huge blow in his hopes of winning this year’s world title, with the seven-time world champion effectively need🌞ing to win both of the final races of the season in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi.
The incident does not relate to Hamilton🔯’s near-misses with either Alp🌊haTauri’s Pierre Gasly or Nikita Mazepin that occurred during FP3.
Hamilton has also been summoned for impeding Nikita Mazepin in FP3. The&nbs𝄹p;Haas rookie Mazepin had to take evasive action in order to avoid a terrifying shunt with Hamilton through the blind, flat-out first sector 🌊of the Jeddah track.
