Sir Lewis Hamilton receives knighthood at Windsor Castle

The 36-year-old was named in the Queen’s New Years Honours List last year for his services to motorsport after he equalജled Michael Schumacher’s record of seven world titles during the 2020 F1 season.
Hamilton was officially knighted by the Prince of Wales at a ceremony at Windsoꦆr Castle on Wednesday. He was accompanied by his mother Carmen Larbalestier.

The seven-time World Champion received his Knighthood from The Prince of Wales at today's Investiture ceremony﷽ held at Windsor ✤Castle.
It came just days after Hamilton was denied a record-breaking eighth world title in c𓆏ontroversial circumstances during Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen’s last lap overtake clinchi🐎ng his maiden world championship.
Hamilton h꧒as become just the fourth F1 driver to receive a knighthood. He is the first to receive the honour since Sir Jackie Stewart in 2𒊎001.
Sir Stirling Moss and Sir Jack Brabham are the only other two F1 drivers ꦦin history to have been knighted, in 2000 and 1979 respectively.
Hamilton was previously made an MBE (Member of the British Empire) by🥀 t🅘he Queen following his first world title triumph in 2008.
