Lewis Hamilton cast doubt over his Formula 1 future after winning the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, but would he really walk away atꦇ the end of the year?

Hamilton’s comments generated a huge amount of interest and specu♒lation and raised questions that had previously bee༒n considered to be something of a formality.

With the Briton on the brink of clinching a record-equalling seventh drivers’ world title at the Turkish Grand Prix, and a record eighth championship crown a likely prospect in 2021, there ap♚pears to be little reason why Hamilton would quit F1’s most successful team now.

Hamilton has remained committed to Mercedes whenever qu📖estions about his future in F1 had been fired his way so far this year, but his tone noticeably changed after helping the team claim a record-breaking seventh consecutive constructors’ title in the Emilia Romagnಞa GP.

Af🐽ter taking the 93rd win of his illustrious grand prix career at Imola, Hamilton said there was “no guarantee” he would be on the grid next year with Mercedes.

“I don't even know if I'm going to be here next year,” Hamilton said when asked if he had any concerns about the impact of a potential departure for Toto Wolff - who is also out of contract at t📖he end of 2020 - could have on Mercedes.

"I feel great and 🦩still very strong and feel like I could keep going for plenty of months," Hamilton added. “But you mentioned about Toto and shelf life - ♎these are things that stay on the top of my mind. I would like to be here next year but there is no guarantee. A lot excites me in the after life. Time will tell.”
