Colombo takes maiden Formula 3 victory in first Hungary sprint race

After enjoying his ♏best qualifying of the season with 11th, Colombo lined up on the front row alongside Carlin’s Jonny Edgar.
After duelling 🐷with Edgar on the opening lap, Colombo got through on the outside of Turn 1 - coincidentally, Edgar hit trouble and came to a halt, ending his race prematurely.
With overtaking so difficult around the tight and twisty Hungar♈oring, Colombo’s maiden vic꧟tory was a likely achievement.
Hitech’s Ayumu Iwasa ran behind Colombo having started from third but couldn’t🦹 get close to ওmake an overtake.
Frederik Vesti’s late retirement caused a Safety Car but the Italian aced the restart to ensure he secured h💃is first win 🀅but also first points of the season.
Iwasa maintained second across the line, scoring his third🍬 podium finish of the season, wh🍌ile Olli Caldwell joined them on the podium.
Logan Sargeant finished fourth as the initial grid order, besides Edgar, remained🍸 intact at the front.
Trident’s Clement Novalak fini𓆏shed fifth ahead of points leader Dennis Hauger, who pulled off a couple of excellent overtakes around the outside of Turn 1.
Aleksandr Smoly❀ar was seventh in the ART Grand Prix, while David Schumacher got ahead of Trident teammate Jack Doohan with a couple of laps to go.
Matteo Nannini rounded out the to🔯p ten for HWA Racelab.
Roman Stanek and Enzo Fit⛦tipaldi completed the top 12 and will share the front row of the 🍌grid for this afternoon’s second sprint race.
Arthur꧃ Leclerc narrowly missed out on reverse grid pole having finished less than a tenth of a second behind Fittipaldi across the liꦿne.
Finally, Jak Crawford could be subject to a penalty after he ღcollided with Ido Cohen into Turn 1 with a lap to go.
