Maximilian Günther confirmed in Dragon Formula E seat for Season 5

Dragon Racing has confirmed Maximilian Günther will make his𝓀 Formula🐭 E debut with the team at the season-opening round in Saudi Arabia next month, partnering Jose Maria Lopez.

Günther, 21, first tested with Dragon at the Marrakesh rookie test in January before joining the team in a reserve role, but will now ꦿstep into the race seat🦩 vacated by Jerome d'Ambrosio for the 2018/19 campaign.

Dragon Racing has🔯 confirmed Maximilian Günth🐈er will make his Formula E debut with the team at the season-opening round in Saudi Arabia next month, partnering Jose Maria Lopez.

Günther, 21, first tested with Dragon at the Marrakesh rookie test in January before joining the team in 🙈a reserve role, but will now step into the race seatꦜ vacated by Jerome d'Ambrosio for the 2018/19 campaign.

"I’m really happy to compete with Dragon in the upcoming ABB FIA Formula E season,” Günther 🌳said.

"We made great progress during our development with the more powerful and complex Gen2 Carꦰ. It’s an exciting challenge for both the Engineers and the Driver, and I’m enjoying every second driving it.

Günther will move into Formula E after finishing his rookie season in Forꦛmula 2 in Abu Dhabi later this month, having recorded one win and one further podium finish in the category to date.

The German pღreviously was a rival to Lance Stroll and Lando Norris during their Formula 3 title-winning years, spending three seasons in the championship before moving up to F2.

Günther's confirmati♋on leaves just one seat free in Formula E for Season 5. Nissan e.dams is yet to confirm who will partner Seba🍸stien Buemi at the team, with Alexander Albon expected to depart the outfit after a late approach from Toro Rosso over a Formula 1 seat.

The new Formula E season sta🅰rts in Saudi Arabia on December 15.
