Pascal Wehrlein confirms exit from Mahindra Formula E team

Pascal Wehrle✨in has confirmed he has parted ways with the Mahindra Formula E team, ahead of an expected switch to Porsche.

Wehrlein is set to rac🐻e for the Porsche Formula E team from next season having cut ties with Mahindra with immediate effect, mid-way through the 2019-20 season.

It is understood the German wi🤡ll not race for the Mahindra squad during the remainder of the campaign, which is currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Pascal Wehrlein has confirmed he has parted ways wi⛎th the Mahindra 🐠Formula E team, ahead of an expected switch to Porsche.

Wehrlein is set to race for the Porsche Formula E team from next season having cut ties with Mahindra♉ with immediate effect, mid-way through the 2019🧔-20 season.

It is understood the🍰 Germa🌃n will not race for the Mahindra squad during the remainder of the campaign, which is currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Wehrlein, who raced in F1 with🥂 Manor and Sauber between 2016 and 2017, joined Mahindra ahead of the 2018-19 season and agreed a three-year deal which was originally set to run until the end of 2020-21.

But on Monday afternoon, Wehrlein confirmed his Mahindra exit in an Instagra🍨m post which read: “From today onwards I will no longer be part of Mahindra Racing

“My int🦄erest was to finish the season but the current situation didn’t allow so.

“I can’t say much about my future but will keep you inf🎉ormed.”

Mahindra is yet to comment on the matter, though an official announcement - including details on Wehrlജein’s replacement to partner Jerome d'Ambrosio - is expected imminently.

The 25-year-old finish👍ed 12th in the standings during his maiden Formula E campaign with Mahindra in 2018-19, recording a be🤡st result of second place in Chile.

Wehrlein sits 14th after the opening five rounds of the current Formula E sꦉeason having scored points on just two occasions so far.

The Formula E season is expected to resume in August once it is safe to do so following the🧜 coronavirus crisis.
