Formula E returns with the season-o꧃pener♋ taking place under the lights in Diriyah.

The season opens with a double-header in Saudi Arabia with the all-electric se♑ries entering its eighth season - its final before the ‘Gen3’ era.

While the cars have mostly stayed the same for 2022, the 🦩biggest change is the qualifying ✤format.

Group qualifying - the previous format - was criticised for being too disadvantageous for the title contenders g𝐆iven they were forced to qualify in group one and thus have the🥃 worst of the track conditions.

Instead, Formula E has implemented a complex꧑, knock-out style qualifying format.

Reigning world champions Mercedes retains its pairing of 202😼1 Formula E champion Nyꦆck de Vries and Stoffel Vandoorne.

Oliver Rowland has switched to Nissan from Mahind𝓡ra, while Lucas di Grassi is at Venturi following Aud🎶i’s exit.

Former F1 d♒river Antonio Giovinazzi makes his debut in the series with Dragon, as does Dan Ticktum at NIO 333.
