Pedrosa was holding fourth on the opening lap of Sunday's race in Argentina when he was forced off the dry line by a passinꦉg manoeuvre from Johann Zarco, at the penultimate turn.
Moments later, as he opened the throttle, Pedrosa was launched from his Repsol Honda, suffering a heavy blow to his righ𒉰t wrist.
Further medical checks were arranged for his return to Barcelona today (𝓰Tuesday) and a decision to operate looks to have been swiftly taken.
Repsol Honda is yet to confirm the news.
