MotoGP rookie star Fabio Quartara🉐ro is confident he will get the green light to compete in this week🥀end's Catalunya round, following recent arm pump surgery.

The Petronas Yamaha rider underwent the oper🏅ation last Tuesday, following difficulties with his right forearm in the Italian MotoGP.

As a result, the 20-year-old Frenchman - who has claimed two front row starts and two fastest laps so far this season - will n🥀eed to pass a medical check on Thursday in Barcelona.

"We come into this race off th🐲e back of me having undergone surgery in Barcelona last week. Everything looks good with the arm soಌ far and I feel good," Quartararo said.

"Now ﷺI just need to pass the medical examination at the circuit on Thursꦐday and then get back on my bike."

Quartararo has great memories of Catalunya, having taken his only grand prix victo🧜🍌ry to date in last year's Moto2 race. He returns holding twelfth in the world championship, just three points behind team-mate Franco Morbidelli on the full factory bike, plus a big lead in the Rookie of the Year contest.

"Barcelona is one of my favourite circuits. I'm looking forward to riꦑding there with a MotoGP bike," he said. "It's💦 a fast and long track, which is something that I like.

"It brings back some very good memories, because la🍌st season I earned my first World Championship victory there. I can’t wait to return and have a good race."

The second official test since the start of the season will be held at the Barcelona circuit on Monday, Quartararo having been fastest at the previou꧟s post-race test in Jerez.
