MotoGP rookie Joan Mir was fortunate to escape serious injury after suffering a big accident during the final hour of M🦩ondaဣy's post-race test at Brno.

The Suzuki rider lostꦺ control into Turn 1, his GSX-RR left heavily damaged after vaulting the trackside barriers while an ambulance was sent to attend to Mir.

"The cras♔h was a scary one, but finally it looks like everything is more or less OK," Mir said.

"I had some pain and struggled to breathe initially, but then the situation got better and better and I receive♕d excellent assistance and support from the medics at the track."

Suzuki said that Mir was 'initially diagnosed at the circuit with a pulmonary contusion. A CT scan and further checks at the local hospital confirmed that there is no further damage, but 𝓀he will need to be monitored over the next days while he rests and recovers'.

"It will take a couple of days to recover, I need to take it easy and take my time, but at the moment I feel 𒈔relieved that everything is ꦿOK, and I hope I will be 100% ready to race in Austria," added Mir, who set the seventh fastest time at the test.

The Spaniard now has lꦫess than four days to recover before he is due back on track for opening pr🦄actice at the Red Bull Ring.

"Fingers crossed for 🍨Joan," said team manager Davide Brivio.

Mir, 13th in the world championship with a best finish of sixth, was taken out by Franco Morbidelli's fallen bike on the opening lꦚap of Sunday's race.

Team-mate Alex Rins set th🦩e fourth-fastest time at the test🀅.

“I compared the new f𝕴airing - with the new aerodynami🅘c package - to the old one, and it helped me to confirm my good feeling with the new fairing," Rins said.

"I also tested a new chassis and s𒅌wingarm, and the difference isn’t as obvious as it is with the 🍌fairing, so we need to do a bit more analysis. I’m pleased with the work done, and I’m looking forward to going to Austria.”
