Going faster: Guintoli explains video, data analysis
The latest in an exceptional series of You Tube videos by Suzuki MotoGP test rider Sylvain Guintoli shows the Frenchman explaining how video and data analysis can bꦦe used to go faster arou🔯nd a race track.
Publishing top-secret ꩵGSX-RR telemetry is unfortunately impossible, so instead the former World Superbike champion and 250GP podium finisher invited members of the public to send in their track-day data and footage for him analyse.
The example 𓆉chosen in this video was sent in by 'Mike', from a track day at Donington Park on a 600cc machine.

The latest in an exceptional series of You Tube videos by Suzuki MotoGP test rider Sylvain Guintoli shows the Frenchman explaining how video and data analysis can be used to go faster around a race trackꦚ.
Publishing top-secret GSX-RR teleme𒉰try is unfortunately impossible, so instead the former World Superbike champion a🉐nd 250GP podium finisher invited members of the public to send in their track-day data and footage for him analyse.
The example chosen in this video was sent in by 'Mike', from a track day at꧙ Donington Park on a 60🧸0cc machine.
Guintoli compares Mike's video and telemetry footage with his own data on a 🎶GSX-R1000, to see where Mike can go faster (putting aside the top speed of the superbike).
The video comparison from three sections🍌 of the track highlights differences in racing lines, throttle opening and ge♉ar selection.
Data analysis then shows where the biggest performances differences occur around the whole lap - but also, despite being nearly 30-seconds slower in lap time, the places w༺here Mike was actually faster than Guintoli!
The principles being applied by Guintoli as he reviews the data are relevant to any level of motorcycle racing and give an insight into the kinds of things MotoGP riders look for as they scan computer screens in the pitsﷺ.
If you have similar fꦡootage, Gui꧒ntoli is inviting more riders to send in their track day data for him to analyse...
