Miguel Oliveira’s consecutive run of MotoGP podium finishes has been extended to three following a second place finish at the 𓃲German GP. 

Oliveira and Marc Marquez had been the two standout riders when i🌳t came to long run pace, which held true to form during t✨he 30 lap race. 

But light rain drops on lap five while Marquez was leading was the key to victory as the eight-time world champion extended his lead to two s𓆉econds, as Oliveira was cooped up behind Aleix Espargaro who struggled with the tricky conditions. 

Oliveira did all he could to close the gap once he got past Espargaro and Jack💜 Miller, bu🧸t was unable to bring Marquez' lead to under a second. 

The second place for Oliveira means he gained more points on championship leader Fabio Quartararo, a🤪s he brings himself more and more intꦕo the title fight.

Speaking after the race, Oliveira added: "Yeah, very happy for this performance. Of course, the key moment of the race was when the rain came down and as we know Marc [Marquez] was able to understand quite quickly the grip level and he made the gap there.&n𒈔bsp;

"I was not 🍸in the ideal situa𓄧tion because I was not at that moment right behind him, and I got stuck in this little group where he got a gap to. 

"Then when I got to the second place I tried hard. I put the pressure on him, I did the best I could, but I didn’t have the best situation to maꦍnage the tyre because I used a lot to t𒉰ry and get to him. 

"I felt like he was in control the whole race. He pushed a little bit more when I was completely empty. This made m🎃y race decision easier and he pulled a gap to 1.5s. From then on I decided to bring the bike back to the garage and save this second place."

Following a difficult start to the season where ‘we couldn’t really understandꦿ how to turn our situation around’, Oliveira said the input of all four ♑riders and test rider Pedrosa along with new parts - Chassis and fuel, that came for Mugello has been key. 

"I think that in the beginning of the championship we couldn’t really understanꦕd on how to turn our situation around. Then we relied a lot also on some parts that were coming from the test team and I thꦯink we did a very good group work," said Oliveira. 

"We work with all🍬 four riders, 💮also with Dani [Pedrosa] on the test team; he’s been like an outsider, but helping a lot and giving very valuable input into the project which is giving a little bit here and there. 

"In this tight cat🅷egory and tight grid, if y🏅ou are able to understand where you can extract the maximum of each detail then you can make steps forward. 

"I needed to finish races also, I showed some potential in a couple of races but I couldn’t manage to finiไsh,🉐 but since Mugello we were able to make this little step."
