Calderon switches to Jenzer for third GP3 season

The established race-winning Jenzer squad marks the third different team Ca😼lderon will have raced for in as many years in the F1 support series, having made her debut with Arden in 2016 before moving to DAMS last year.

With DAMS announcing it will exit GP3 in 2018, Calderon secured Jenzer’s first race seat for the upcoming campaign after taking part in the final day of GP3’s post-season test with 𓄧the Swiss-based outfit in Abu Dhabi in November.
The Colombian finished 18th in the 2017 drivers’ standings and scored points at Monza and Jerez, while she also claimed a podium in a one-of🎃f Formula V8 3.5 round in Bahrain with RP Motorsport.
“I’m extreme🌜ly happy to be racing with Jenzer in GP3 this year,” Calderon said. “They have a great history in the series; last year they had a really successful season and everything went really well when I tested with them last year.
“I like the way they work, and I think together we can make a great combination and b✃e very competitive. I’ve also been working really hard during the winter to be as ready as possible, as both the team and I want to be challenging t💜he front-runners.”
Juan Manuel Correa, who contested a part-time GP3 campaign in 2017, and European Formula 3 racer David Beckmann are understood to be in the frame for the remainin🥃g Jenzer seats.
