The race had been running behind the Safety Car under a full course caution for over an hour after theꦇ #4 Corvette spun out at the first corner after aquaplaning.
The red flag was called with seven hours and 13 minutes remaining, with th🐎e clock set to continue to count down until the race resumes. The cars are parked up on pit road.
It is the first time the race has been red flagged since 2014, and the fi🎀🌟rst time due to rain since 2004.
