Question mark remains over Fernando Alonso’s WEC future

Fernando Alonso remain🦩s unsure over his future with Toyota in the FIA W🎀orld Endurance Championship, saying there is a “question mark” beyond the end of the current season.

Alonso jointly leads the WEC drivers’ championship with co-drivers Kazuki Nꦓakajima and Sebastien Buemi heading into the final two rounds of the 2018-19 season, which ends with the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

Fernando Alonso remains unsure over his future with Toyota in the FIA World Endurance Championship, saying there is a “question mark” beyond the end of th🥃🌳e current season.

Should Alonso extend his WEC foray with Toyota intoꦡ a second season, he would need to commit to a deal running to June 2020, leaving him unsure of where his priorities will lie.

“I will have to think. There is definitely time to think now in the♈ coming months,” Alonso said.

“Right now, I don’t want to get too deep on that thinking, because the Indy 500 is going to take all my focus. For the future, it will depend on what I do after the summer, what are the project⛎s that are coming, where I will switch my🌱 focus.

“The WEC, after winning Le Ma🔜ns and Daytona at the beginning of the year, and Sebring a couple of weeks ago, it’s a question mark if I commit to that.

“Also becauಌse it ends in 2020 July and it’s quite a fut🔜ure commitment. I have to think and be sure of that.”

The 🅺2019-📖20 WEC campaign will begin with the 4 Hours of Silverstone on September 1, with Le Mans set to once again stage the season finale on Ju⛦ne 14, 2020.
