F1 reserve Callum Ilott calls for Raidillon changes after massive Spa GT crash

A four-car accident occurred at the high-speed Raidillon during the opening hour of running at the Spa 2𝓰4 Hours on Saturday, with four drivers requiring medical treatment🌟.
Williams F1 reserve Jack Aitken and Ferrari factory driver Davide Rigon were taken to hospi♊tal for further checks, while Kevin Estre and Franck Perera were given the all-clear after an initial assessment at the circuit’s medical centre.
Rigon was released from hospital o🎶n Saturday evening but Aitken, who was driving an Emil Frey Lamborghini, remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two years 🌠ago, Anthoine Hubert lost his life in a horr🎃ific Formula 2 crash at the same corner in an accident that also left Juan Manuel Correa severely injured.
Alfa Romeo F1 reserve Ilott, who was also competing in the 2019༒ F2 race, feels changes are required to prevent similar accidents in the 𒈔future.
“There needs to be a change at this corner and I’m very surprised nothing has changed yet,” he wrote social med🎃ia. “Enough is enough.”
“If I’m wrong for 💧chasing for better safety after seeing f🌄our of my friends involved in massive accidents then I may as well not be human.
“I’ve come back to Sp💦a after 2019 and I will come back again after this. But that doesn’t mean if something isn’t good enough it shouldn’t♌ be fixed.”
In another reply to a Twitteಞr user, Ilott argue♌d it is the “barrier mainly” which needs a revision.
Spa-Francorchamps will host F1’s Belgian Grand Prix on Aug👍ust 29.
