Eugene Laverty is aiming to make an early comeback from injury next weekend at Imola for Milwaukee Aprilia as heܫ hopes to pass a fitness test on the eve of the Italian round.

Laverty was sidelined with a broken pelvis suffered in a nasty accident during race two of the Thailand round in March which has seen him miss the A🦋ragon and Assen race weekends.

The Milwaukee Aprilia rider was initially t🅠imetabled for a return at Donington Park at the end of this month but having recovered quicker than expected the former MotoGP rider is e🐬ying an early return at Imola next weekend (May 11-13).

Former World Superbike regular Davide Giugliano acted as his replacement for Aragon and Assen with the potential to fill in at Imola, subject to Laverty's recovery timetable. Laverty will now aim to p🍸ass a fitness test at the Italian circu🔯it on the Thursday before the race weekend.

“After meeting with his orthopaedic doctors, Eugene Laverty's pelvic fractures are healing well,” WorldSBK.com confirmed. “He will travel to Imola🦋 and hope to be passed fit by the medi🧜cal team next week.”

Laverty was involved in a horrible incident after low siding off during race two at the Chang International Circuit and he was accidently hit by MV Agusta’s Jordi Torres. Laverty briefly lost feeling in his lower legs before recovering sensation but after being taken to Bangkok hospita🦋l he was diagnosed with two pelvis fractures and underwent a minor operation to repair an internal injury.

Leon Camier and Jake Gagne also face a race against time to be fit for the Imola round for Red Bull Honda. Gagne missed thꩵe Assen rounds after a heavy high-side off at the iconic Dutch track while his teammate Camier has been out of action after suffering broken ribs in a crash during race one at Aragon.
