Davies suffers new injury blow
Chaz D𝓰avies has sustained a fractured right collarbone in a training accident at Aragon and fac🍒es a race against time to be fit for the return of the World Superbike championship at Portimao.
The Aruba.it Racing Ducati rider suffered a near-identical injury at the start of World Superbike’s lengthy summer break w🉐hich saw him miss the Italian manufacturer’s ‘Race of Champions’ at Misano. The Welsh rider had made a sufficient recovery to take part in last week’s in-season test in Portugal but has suffered a fresh setback while training at Aragon.

The Aruba.it Racing Ducati rider suffered a near-identical injury at the start of World Superbike’s lengthy summer break which saw him miss the Italian maওnufacturer’s ‘Race of Champions’ at Misano. The Welsh rider had made a sufficient recovery to take part in last week’s in-season 🌱test in Portugal but has suffered a fresh setback while training at Aragon.
Davies has been hit with a rig🃏ht collarbone fracture and spent the night🐻 in hospital under observation for medical tests to determine whether he will need further surgery. The Ducati rider underwent surgery just over a month ago on the same area.
Both Davies and his Ducati squad are hopeful he’ll make a full recovery in time for the next World Superbike round at Portimao which is now 🌊two weeks away (September 14-16). No provisional replacement rider has been announced.
Ducati recently xonfirmed the re-signing of Davies alongside Alva🀅ro Bautista for the 2019 Wo⛎rld Superbike championship, who will switch from MotoGP over the winter, to take up Marco Melandri’s ride.
Davies is currently second in the World Superbike riders’ standings but a significant 92 points behind championship leader Jonath🌼an Rea with four rounds – and a maximum of 200 points – remaining.
