Dutch WorldSBK: ‘Target is to fight for the podium’ - Lowes

KRT rider Alex Lowes has his sights solely on the podium ahead of this weekend’s Dutch WorldSBK - a venue&♛nbsp;he knows well thanks to his early days in BSB.&nbဣsp;
Following the confirmed news of Lowes spearheading Kawasaki’s 2021 Suzuka 8 Hoursꦫ charge - an event he’s won three times (Yamaha) - alongside team-mate Jonathan Rea and Lucas Mahias later this year, Lowes’ attention has turned to Assen which i🦋s traditionally one of Kawasaki’s better tracks.
With back-to-back rounds in Estoril and Misano proving difficult for the Brit who was without a podium, the former Yamaha man was able to rebound with a home🔯 rostrum in race one at Donington Park.
The rest of the weekend didn’t quite go according to plan for Lowes as he suffered a Superpole race crash, however, the speed was there throughout; especially in ♎wet conditions as he returns to a circuit that yielded his first ever podium in WorldSBK.
"Assen is a fantastic track and one of my favourites on the calendar. Spea♑king as a British bike racing fan, we’ve always had a close affiliation with the Dutch circuit," said💃 Lowes.
"My first experiences of it were from my time in BSB. It is also a place I claimed my first WorldSBK podium at in 2014.&n🤪bsp;
"As we didn’t race there last year thi🍬s will be my firs✨t experience of Assen on the Ninja ZX-10RR.
"The target for this weekend is to🧸 fight for the podium - and h🌜ave a lot of fun doing it with my ‘Team 22’ Kawasaki Racing Team crew."
