Jonas Folger considering WEC for 2022 after WorldSBK departure

💖Former WorldSBK♛ and MotoGP rider Jonas Folger is considering a switch to the World Endurance Championship for 2022.
After joining Bonovo BMW for thℱe 2021 WorldSBK campaign, the German has an option to contest the 2022 WEC season with ERC Ducati.
This comes 🐼after Folger and BMW failed in coming to an agreement which would have seen him compete for the German manufacturer in the same series.
Folger’s rookie season in WorldSBK was an extremely tough one as he failed ๊💧to make any real progress during the season - much like another former MotoGP rider in Tito Rabat, as the year went on.
A best of eighth in race three at Aragon was the 28 year-old’s only top ten finish of the year, before he and the team decided to split following Portimao.&nbs𒅌p;
While Folger and Bonovo competed as a one-rider team in 2021, the BMW outfit has increased its participation for next year as Loris Baz andꦬ Eugene Laverty have come onboꦛard.
In an exclusive interview with SPEEDWEEK, Folger said he’s considering the above-mentioned offer from Ducati, however, the German is working on a plan bඣ that do🌠es not include racing.
. “I would have done that anyway, I've had that in the back of my mind for a long time and I'm planning. Regardless of whether I race or not. I've been doing some of these for a long time and would just invest more time.”
