If Dominꦗique Aegerter loses less than four points to Steven Odendaal in San Juan this weekend, then the Swiss rider will clinch his first ever world title. 

Aegerter leads the Su𝄹persport championship by 54 points with just four races left - two in Argentina, before November’s season finale at the new Mandalika International Circuit, Indonesia. 

The former Moto2 rider, who is also a 🦹rookie in the Supersport class, has been by far the series’ standout rider after taking 10𒈔 wins from 17 races thus far.

Aegerter’s 54 point lead is even more impressi🦩ve when you factor in his MotoE commitments, which led to him missing the Cata🔴lunya round last month. 

While the 31 year-old narrowly missed out on winning the MotoE World Cup - finished ꦬsecond to Jordi Torres, clinching the Supersport title looks inevitable for the Swiss rider.

Sp🔯eaking ahead of his first visit to the San Juan Villicum Circuit, Aegerter added: "I like to ride at new tracks and my focus and concentration will be on free practice one and two to learn the track and see how we need to set up the bike. 

"Then we will see what will happen꧒ during the weekend and I’ll just try to do my best. 

"I🐻f I can be crowned world champion of Sup⭕ersport here in San Juan, that would be nice.

"It’s been aꦗn amazing season so far. I was very fast every weekend apart from the weekend we didn’t start in Barcelona when we had the clash with🎐 MotoE, but I think we did an amazing job this year."
