A Formula 1 street race in London would be best run as a one-off event instead of becoming a permanent fi𒉰xture on the sport's calendar, according to Red Bull team boss Christian Horner.

F1 is known to be actively pursuing a street♋ race in London to add to its calendar in the future, with early talk𓆉s ongoing to try and secure an event in the East London borough of Newham.

Theཧ future of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone was safeguarded with the signing of a new five-year deal earlier this month, meaning a possible London race would be an additional UK event, not a replacement.

However, Red Bull F1 chief Horner said he believes a London Grand Prix would be best run as a one-🌄off event instead of appearing on the calendar every single year.

"I think London would need to be one-of🦹f event. It’s not the type of venue that would be there every year," Horn🌟er said.

"But if evꩲer it was possible, I still think it would be fantastic to see an F1 car race around the streets of London. But it would mean it would be an additional race to Silverstone, which is the natural home of F1.

Asked if F1 needed a London race, Horner said: "If it’s another fantastic venue and circuit that adds to a 21-race calendar, and we are fortunate that two of those are in this country, then 🐠I’d certainly take it.

"It’s been an amazi⭕ng crowd here this weekend, huge support, and hopefully now with the investment Silverstone will be able to make with the longevity of their deal, we’ll start to see more fans getting closer to the pits."
