Marc VDS has announced its withdrꦅaw from the 2021 FIM Enel MotoE World Cup.

The Belgian team has run Mike di Meglio during both previous seasons, scoring one vi🌞ctory, four podiums and a best of fourth in the championship standings.

The Frenchman was due to continue with VDS in 2021 but this year's electric-bike scheꦡdule will clash with his other commitments in the FIM World Endurance Championship, with TSR Honda.

Team boss Marc van der Stra𒁃ten says losing the services of the former 125cc world champion di Meglio 'completely changed the project' and, as such, he has decided to end the team's involvement in MotoE.

"Although I am saddened t꧟o leave this pioneering competition, I have to be true to the principles an💃d competitive values of the team," van der Straten said.

"We have invested time and effort over the la🔯st two years working with Mike di Meglio to be able to fight for great things with him. Having to give up our ⭕rider due to a calendar incompatibility has completely changed the project we have been betting on for some time.

"Given the short time availab💞le before the start of the competi🌊tion to start a new project, we have decided to withdraw from the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup.

"I want to thank all the friends and sponsors who have accompanied us in🐟 this beautiful adventure these last two years."

The 2021 MotoE season is currently due to start during the Spanish MotoGP weekend at Jerez in early May, with a total of seven races at six venues 🐼planned.

Marc VDS will continue to compete in the Moto2 W🥀orld Championship, where the multi title-winning team took three victories with ꦦSam Lowes last season.
