Jonathan Rea says he’s eager to go into the summer break with momentum and feels fresh for th𓆏e Misano round this weekend.

The defe💙nding World Superbike champion says his sole focus is to extend his healthy 75-point lead at the top of the riders’ champi🎀onship at the Italian track to take a dominant position into the extensive summer break which follows the Misano round.

Rea, who was involved in a scary race one crash🍨 with Chaz Davies at the Italian track last year, accepts Kawasaki tends to need a compromise with set-up at Misano but is relishing the final round before the break.

“Misano is one of my favourite races of the season and this year we planned a holiday before the race with my family, staying on the beach with our motor home,” Rea said. “It sets th🅷e weekend up perfectly as I feel recharged for the last race before the summer break.

“The circuit is pretty straightforward and has a mix of everything. Although it’s flat, it’s still a challe🍷nge to find a compromise with set up, so we will work hard on Friday to make sure we can be competitive.

“It’s important to strengthen our position in the c🎀hampionship. Our🍰 target is to keep working the way we have in the previous races and maximise our potential.”

After Mไisano, Rea will contest the Suzuka 8 Hours for the factory Kawasaki squad alongside Leon Haslam and Kazuma Watanabe on July 27🌃-29 before returning to World Superbike action at Portimao on September 14-16.
