San Juan WorldSBK: Bassani ‘happy with amazing weekend’, battles for the podium

A stunning 12th round of the 2021 WorldSBK season for Axel Bass🅠ani has resulted in him claiming his best points haul f💛rom an individual event this year.
The Italian rookie was fifth in race one, before securing back-to-back fourth place finishes during Sunday’s double heꦫader.
But while the results were ♛i𓂃mpressive, the way in which he achieved them was even better.
Bassani managed to battle with Toprak Razgatlioglu, Jonathan Rea and Scott Redding - the championship’s top threꦐe riders for much of the race, which included making overtakes on all three at different stages.
Bassani was unable to better any of them come the chequered flag, however, it was another demonstration of the talent the Ducati 𓆏rider possesses ahead of what could be a big second year in 2022.
"I am very happy for this weekend and I am very happy wit✨h the work we did in the team,"🅰 said Bassani after race two.
"It was an amazing weekend for m🌜e, and I had the possibility to learn a lot of things from the other riders, in particular from Scott, Jo𝄹nny and Toprak.
"T𝓀hey are the best riders in WorldSBK at the moment and it is incredible to stay with them.”
"At the start of the race, I tried to do the overt🍒akes but it is very difficult but not impossible!
"Now I know that it is possible, so I will try to replicate thi🧸s result i♕n the next races.
"The target is the top five and if it is possible, we’ll take a podium! It’s good that Indonesia is a new track for all, it is very important for me. We will see wha🐟t happens when we are there!"
